CalChamber sues over labeling requirement for common food chemical


State-mandated warnings that cooked foods and olives are dangerous are being challenged by the California Chamber of Commerce.

On Monday, CalChamber filed suit against California Attorney General Xavier Becerra over the state’s mandatory Proposition 65 warnings about acrylamide in many cooked foods, including french fries, chips and cookies.

A spokesperson for the Attorney General's Office declined to comment, saying that the office is still reviewing the complaint.
