CalPERS names former employee as new chief investment officer


Yu Ben Meng will return to the California Public Employees’ Retirement System to be its new chief investment officer.

Meng, a United States citizen born in China, will oversee the CalPERS investment office with nearly 400 employees. He will develop investment policies, risk management and corporate governance standards for the $360 billion investment portfolio, CalPERS said.
