After 10 years of living in big cities like San Francisco and New York, Baltimore native Tess Russell moved back to Charm City last fall and quickly fell in love again with her hometown and new neighborhood of Hampden.

But, despite living close to a wide array of restaurant and bar options, Russell noticed one void: there were no bodegas, the small, neighborhood grocery stores that offer everything from fresh produce to umbrellas.
