Approval sought for South Memphis shipping container restaurant
A new application is asking for approval from the Memphis and Shelby County Board of Adjustment on a restaurant proposed for South Memphis.
The new, nonprofit establishment would be a walk-up restaurant and replace a vacant lot at 939 Walker Ave. The owner listed on the application is 275 Food Project, with an address of 1461 Genesis Circle.
The one-story restaurant will feature an enclosed kitchen as well as a variety of outdoor seating under a shade structure.

Cincinnati Reds Opening Day is an unofficial holiday in the Queen City, and this year the festivities will have some extra excitement added.
The Reds will celebrate their 150th season when they take the field at 4:10 p.m. Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade will step off for the 100th time at noon.
