Balancing the cost of child care and the cost of rent can be challenging. In some cities, like St. Louis, families may pay more for child care than rent.
According to a new report from San Francisco-based apartment search website HotPads.com, the median monthly rent in St. Louis is $1,195, but child care costs $1,330 a month. That makes St. Louis one of 13 cities where child care costs exceed rent.
