The price of everything from food to housing has gone up, but there are still pockets of affordability.

The operators of a Natomas seafood restaurant specializing in oysters are planning to expand into Citrus Heights.

The new owner hopes to bring in customers from the neighborhood, as well as the larger region. Plus, two new openings in Buffalo and one to come in Tonawanda.

Though traditional Greek dishes and diner favorites will remain on the menu, the owner is making changes in hopes of attracting new customers. Plus, a Mexican taco shop closes in Lewiston, while a new full-service Mexican restaurant opens in Depew.

In opening the new location, Shifflett was looking to address a sizable population — workers at the nearby industrial parks, warehouses, and distribution centers. He estimated that there were 20,000 potential mouths to feed.

A store with juices, smoothies and espresso drinks has opened at Ward Village.
