Celis Brewery files for bankruptcy protection, heads off foreclosure sale


Austin's storied Celis Brewery filed July 1 for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection — just a day before it was scheduled for a foreclosure sale.

The company behind Celis, FFBC Operations LLC, filed for bankruptcy in United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. In the filing the company assets of $1 million to $10 million and debt of $1 million to $10 million.
