Christmas Tree Shops expected to liquidate all stores


Christmas Tree Shops, a home-decor retailer that was sold by Bed Bath & Beyond in 2020, has not only joined its former parent company in declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy but now appears set to liquidate all of its stores.

The 53-year-old chain founded on Cape Cod and now based in Middleboro, Massachusetts, is owned by Handil Holdings LLC. The company declared bankruptcy in May, had taken on a $45 million loan as part of its restructuring to maintain normal business operations.
