Cincinnati Ballet Artistic Director Jodie Gates departs role after 13 months


The artistic director of Cincinnati Ballet, who came to the position just over a year ago, has departed the organization.

Jodie Gates, who assumed the role in August 2022, has exited in what the ballet called a "mutual decision" in a news release Friday, Sept. 22. The departure comes as the dance company launched its 60th anniversary season earlier this month. Gates' predecessor, Victoria Morgan, stepped down in May 2022 after a 25-year tenure.
