Commercial bankruptcy filings level out, consumer filings increase


Commercial bankruptcy filings that have been following a downward trend since the recession seem to have leveled out.

More than 3,300 commercial entities across the nation filed for bankruptcy in May. That number is slightly up from the previous month when 3,250 were filed, but filings appear to be fluctuating between the 2,000s and 3,000s month-to-month in the past couple of years.
