Covington grant program funds public art to capture city’s quirky sense of place


What does a 20-foot-high, colorful mural of Colonel Sanders reimagined as a space-age toy have to do with economic development? Quite a bit if you’re from Covington.

The city has embarked on a program to fund homegrown artistic ideas to help cultivate a cool but quirky image of the riverfront town, and attract more tourists, residents and businesses.
