Florida's Live Local Act has been hailed as the answer to the state's affordable housing problem by preempting local land use and zoning regulations while providing additional funding and tax exemptions for affordable housing developments. Now, DeBary officials say the recently passed law could cost the city millions in lost tax revenue — along with hundreds of new jobs — following a possible change of heart, revealed in a surprise letter to the city.
