Eads sharecropper’s son builds sauce business with space in 70 Kroger stores


Almost everything about Memphis entrepreneur Tony Johnson is a surprise — from the one-of-a-kind event venue he runs to the fact his wing sauce can be purchased in 70 Kroger locations.

One of 10 children of an Eads sharecropper, Johnson didn't live in a home with an indoor toilet until he was in 10th grade.

He learned how to cook in the kitchen of Lakeside Behavioral Health System, where he started as a dishwasher at 18 years old.
