Earnings roundup: How Houston-based banks fared after industry turmoil


After the failures of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank in early March, there was fear that the disruption in the banking industry could cause consumers to move their deposits from other regional banks to the large, national banks. In Houston, two locally based banks saw their deposits decline in the first quarter of 2023. Meanwhile, another local bank saw its deposits increase more than a quarter since last year.
