Ed Goldman: The dog days of winter — Finding a home for a homeless puppy


In my tenure with the Dept. of Earth I’ve done one dog rescue (literally: the pooch had been abandoned in an intersection in Long Beach and I scooped it up into my car), one dog adoption and one cat inheritance (my oft-mentioned tabby, Osborn the Magnificent). On Sunday I did something I’ve never done and would rather not have to do again: I took a dog to Sacramento County’s animal control facility on Bradshaw Road to put him up for adoption.
