Food packager closing Colmar plant closing after 29 years; 61 people losing their jobs


Austrian food packaging giant Constantia Flexibles is closing its plant in Colmar later this year, and laying off 61 people, according to a filIng with the state's labor department.

Constantia Colmar opened in 1990 at 92 County Line Road and specialized in candy foil: Think foil-wrapped chocolate bars and chewing gum. The company runs a second U.S. location in Blythewood, South Carolina, which opened in 1997.
