Foreclosed home at Hawaii’s Hualalai Resort goes back to the bank for $6M

Bank of America foreclosed on a home in Hualalai Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii and took it back at auction for nearly $6 million.

The bank filed to foreclose on the one-acre property at 72-104 Pohinahina Place two years ago, alleging owner Robert W. O’Neel III defaulted on a $6.49 million mortgage, according to court records. O’Neel bought the four-bedroom, 4.5-bath, 5,175-square-foot home in 2005 for $9.5 million.

The bank won a judgment in January, and the sale at auction was confirmed…
