Fugitive son of indicted Chapel Hill investor arrested in Thailand


The son of a Chapel Hill businessman has been arrested in Thailand on charges related to a stock inflation scheme.

Peter Coker Jr. is one of three suspects charged in connection to a stock inflation case that made headlines last year and shocked the Chapel Hill business community, as his father, Peter Coker Sr., has a history in the region.

Coker Jr. is being held in a Bangkok jail.

Prosecutors have not returned a request to comment on his status, the next step is likely to be extradition.…
