Georges Haidon, longtime executive chef at Maisonette, dies at 87


Georges Haidon, former executive chef at the world-renowned Maisonette restaurant, died Aug. 23 at his Anderson Township residence. He was 87.

Haidon was born and raised in Liège, Belgium. He graduated with great distinctions from the culinary school l'Ecole d'Hôtellerie of Liège.

While stationed in Germany during his military service, Haidon met and later married his late wife, Anne-Marie. After his military service, Haidon worked for Sabena Airlines in Belgium, Africa and New York.
