Georgia Supreme Court weighs in on complex banking case for second time


The Georgia Supreme Court Wednesday upheld a state law requiring the apportioning of damages in a civil lawsuit among all of the parties found legally liable.

The ruling came in response to three "certified" questions from the U.S. Court of Appeals stemming from a federal lawsuit in which a nearly $5 million judgment was handed down against former executives of the Buckhead Comunity Bank, which closed in 2009.
