Growing Alabama chain sold to franchisee


A fast-growing Alabama-based chain has sold the business to one of its franchisees.

According to the Gadsden Times, Frios Gourmet Pops was sold to Cliff Kennedy in Mobile in a mutlimillion-dollar deal. The exact purchase price was not disclosed.

Frios, which specializes in gourmet ice pops, was founded in Gadsden by Andy Harp five years ago and has 36 locations in 10 states, including four in metro Birmingham.

Kennedy said he plans to move the company’s production to Mobile.
