Hawaiian Electric’s net income grows 22% in Q2 2018


Honolulu-based utility Hawaiian Electric Cos. reported net income of $31.2 million for the second quarter of 2018, an increase of 21.9 percent from $25.6 million during last year's comparable period.

Over the first six months, the electric utility – which includes Hawaiian Electric Co., Maui Electric Co. and Hawaii Electric Light Co. – had net income of $58.6 million, up more than 24 percent from $47.1 million in 2017.
