August residential sales in the 11-county metro Atlanta area totaled 5,299, down 4.6 percent from the same month a year earlier, Atlanta REALTORS reports.
The organization says a tightening inventory is continuing to boost sales prices in the metro area. The average sales price of a home in August was up 3% over August 2018, while the metro area's housing inventory totaled 14,917 units in August 2019, up a little less than 1% from the same month a year before.
