Here’s why California Musical Theatre changed its name


California Musical Theatre, the Sacramento region's largest performing arts group, has changed its name to Broadway Sacramento to avoid confusion and more directly say what it does.

Since the 1950s, the theater company has staged Music Circus in its own theater in downtown Sacramento, and since the 1980s, it has also presented touring Broadway Sacramento shows at the Community Center Theater.
