HomeStreet Bank investor launches proxy contest

Roaring Blue Lion Capital Management on Tuesday launched a proxy contest seeking two spots on HomeStreet Inc.'s board.

The Dallas-based hedge fund wants shareholders to elect Blue Lion Managing Partner Charles W. Griege, Jr. and Ronald K. Tanemura, a private investor and director of post-reorganization Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., to the board of the parent company of Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank.

The directors will run as alternatives to HomeStreet directors up for re-election.
