Very young children are exposed to twice the screen time as children in the late 1990s, exceeding pediatric guidelines, researchers say.
A new study published in JAMA Pediatrics looked at parent diary data kept from 1997 to 2014, per CNN. Children under 2 spent about 1.32 hours per day in front of screens in 1997. In 2014, the daily amount was 3.05 hours.
About a half hour was spent watching TV in 1997; in 2014, it was more than two and a half hours, per Axios.
