HVCA panel remains optimistic despite Wednesday stock drop


Hawaii Venture Capital Association held a panel discussion on public markets and the forecasted coming economic crash on Wednesday. Coincidentally, the stock market took a hit the same day, inverting the yield curve after an 800-point decline for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and a nearly 3% decrease for the S&P 500.

The market has since rebounded slightly — with the DJIA up 1.12% Friday, and the S&P 500 up 1.44% — but while the spike leaves some uneasy about the economy, other professionals…
