In south KC, $140M cold storage project will break ground in 2024 — minus big food processing center


A $199.6 million project by West Liberty Foods and Vertical Cold Storage in January was celebrated as the Kansas City metro's first big business attraction deal of 2023. Although the Iowa protein processor has dropped out of the project, the cold storage company is bullish on its ability to serve other food companies as revised plans move forward.
