International homebuyers still flock to Austin but are spending less than pre-pandemic


International homebuyers purchased $613 million worth of homes in the Austin metro between April 2021 and March 2022. That was relatively flat compared with a year prior but still down from the $800 million in such sales reported in 2020. But Realtors remain optimistic about Central Texas' global appeal: "This is another sign of Austin’s evolution from a college town into a global economic and lifestyle destination."
