The annual James Beard Foundation Awards are extending their stay in Chicago.
Known familiarly as the Oscars of the restaurant world, the Beard Awards honoring excellence in the dining industry will be handed out through 2027 in Chicago, the Foundation said Monday.
First presented in Chicago in 2015 after being handed out for many years in New York City, the awards were expected to continue to be handed out at a Chicago awards ceremony through 2021.
