Information on The List was supplied by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, obtained through Kansas City Business Journal research or supplied by individual companies through questionnaires that KCBJ could not independently verify. In case of ties, companies are listed alphabetically. KCHBA includes structures with four or fewer units in its single-family data. For the purposes of its permit reports, the association counts each unit individually (e.g. a duplex counts as two).
