Kimco Realty wants to redevelop Gateway Plaza in Fremont into housing


Retail giant Kimco Realty Corp. has pitched plans to redevelop another Bay Area retail center into housing.

The New York real estate investment trust (NYSE: KIM) proposed demolishing a 26,550-square-foot commercial building at 39160 Paseo Padre Parkway in Fremont to make way for 206 multifamily units, according to an application filed with the city late last year.
