Kroger models new urban store design after Mariano’s from Roundy’s


The first Kroger Co. store in downtown Cincinnati in a half-century is just four months away from opening and it's similar to the concept that Milwaukee-based Roundy's rolled out in the Chicago area.

The store Kroger (NYSE: KR) is building at Central Parkway and Walnut Street, next to its headquarters building, is scheduled to open in September, Kroger spokeswoman Erin Rolfes told me.
