Kyo-ya plans redevelopment of Waikiki hotel


Kyo-ya Hotels and Resorts has a new plan for redeveloping the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel that involves demolishing all of the hotel, retail and parking buildings on the 4.1-acre property in the center of Waikiki and building a new 33-story hotel tower with about 1,009 rooms.

Kyo-ya, which also owns the Sheraton Waikiki, The Royal Hawaiian and the Moana Surfrider hotels, all operated by Marriott International, across the street, outlined the plans Tuesday night for the Waikiki Neighborhood…
