Lidl ‘looking into’ Baltimore store as part of grocer’s expansion


German grocer Lidl is expanding by seven new stores in Maryland next year — with more possibly on the way including a market in the city.

"Baltimore City is certainly something we're looking into," said Will Harwood, a spokesman for Lidl. "We are actively looking into the area."

Lidl's regional growth, led by its U.S. headquarters in Arlington, is part of a 25-store push to place new markets in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. It's further…
