Lindsey Vonn to sell her “intimate” $6 million, 7,000-square-foot home in Vail

Lindsey Vonn’s home in Vail is for sale, priced at $6 million.

The Olympic gold medalist bought the 7,042-square-foot home in 2014 and called it “a place to come home to where I feel really relaxed and cut off from everything,” during a People magazine interview with Elizabeth Leonard.

Since then, Vonn retired from ski racing and became engaged to P.K. Subban, a three-time NHL all-star defenseman who was traded from the Nashville Predators to the New Jersey Devils in June.

“She will be spending more time in New Jersey around P.K., focusing on his new role with the Devils,” said Gil Fancher, managing broker at Vail Real Estate Center, of Vonn’s decision to sell her retreat in East Vail. “This home has been a very private and essential space for Lindsey to decompress and enjoy time alone and with friends and family during her reign as a world champion ski racer.”

The home located on a cul-de-sac at 5194 Main Gore Drive South is surrounded by the Vail Mountains that Vonn used as training grounds and overlooks Black Gore Creek with access to White River National Forest.

“The home is large but is intimate and cozy with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows (and a) double-sided stone fireplace between the great room, kitchen and dining area,” Fancher said. “The deck overlooking Black Gore Creek is an incredible space to hang out and enjoy nature.”

The five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home also features a workout room and a large family room downstairs with a fireplace, wet bar, guest rooms and a guest master bedroom, Fancher said, and houses a two-car and one-car garage at the end of a heated driveway.

“I love this home, a mountain modern stone chalet in a spectacular location,” Fancher said.
