Local makeup line has global fan base


As a Korean-American woman of immigrant parents, Alice Kim has mixed cultures in her businesses. She founded the Korean beauty-inspired makeup brand Elizabeth Mott with her husband, Vir, in 2010 before they were married.

Kim and Vir both met in New York while pursuing their professional lives, Kim in fashion and Vir on Wall Street. Vir was raised in Hawaii, and in the same year of the company’s founding, they moved the business to Honolulu to be close to family.
