Magnitude 6.9 earthquake shakes Big Island, 4th vent from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano opens


An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 rattled Hawaii's Big Island Friday shortly after noon, an hour after another temblor with a preliminary magnitude of 5.4 shook the island following the opening of a fourth eruption of lava in a residential neighborhood from Kilauea volcano.
