Mayo Clinic will add new proton beam building with $100 million gift


A $100 million donation will allow Mayo Clinic in Rochester to proceed on a planned expansion of its proton-beam therapy facility in downtown Rochester.

The Post-Bulletin has a report on the gift from the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation. Fred Andersen was the former president and chairman of Bayport, Minn.-based window maker Andersen. He and his wife, both deceased, and their foundation have a long history of philanthropy associated with Mayo.
