McDonald’s salads linked to illness in Illinois


McDonald’s salads have been linked to an outbreak of intestinal upset in Illinois.

The Illinois Department of Public Health said Thursday that about a quarter of the 90 people who reported a case of cyclosporiasis ate a McDonald’s salad prior to their illness. The most common symptom was frequent bouts of watery diarrhea.

The cases were dispersed across the state, with some reported in Cook County as early as May. The Oak Brook, Illinois-based fast-food chain responded by taking the salads…
