The owner of the Albany building that was once home to The Lamp Post, a popular college bar, expects to open a restaurant serving Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine this summer.
Sal Alghathi, who bought the property at 218 Western Ave. nearly three years ago, said he expects to open a business called Tasty Choice in August.
"The restaurant is almost ready," Alghathi said. "We're just waiting on the electrician to do work in there."
The basement could be a separate business, perhaps a café or pastry…
