Memphis residential market sees a ‘significant transition’ in 2022 with pricing up, volume down


Home sales in Memphis continued along a significant slowing trend line in December, as 2022 was a year of two very different halves in the local residential real estate market.

Sales plummeted 31.2% year over year, but ticked up slightly from November, according to data from the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR). Over 1,200 homes sold in December 2022, down from 1,800 in the same month in 2021 and the nearly 1,800 sold in December 2020.
