Metallica’s new whiskey has a name — and it’ll be familiar to fans


Blackened.

It's not just the six-minute, 41-second opener to Metallica's "… And Justice For All" album anymore. Now it's the name of the metal legend's new whiskey brand.

Earlier this week, the band posted on its website about its new Blackened American Whiskey. It has a local connection too: Dave Pickerell, a former master distiller at Loretto, Ky.-based Maker's Mark, worked with the band to develop it.
