Minnesota legislators OK $500M State Office Building project

A Minnesota Legislature committee on Wednesday approved a plan to expand and renovate the Minnesota State Office Building, located near the State Capitol. But the cost will be significantly higher than earlier estimates.

The Pioneer Press has a report on the vote by the House Rules and Legislative Administration Committee, which went largely along party lines with DFL members supporting the plan and Republicans opposing it. The full Legislature in 2021 approved moving ahead on the renovation.
