The “mother of the miniskirt” who pioneered fashion freedom for women in the 1960s has died at age 93.
Dame Mary Quant, who was known for designing the short skirts and hot pants that defined the swinging ‘60s as well as for her short, sleek bob hairstyle created by her friend Vidal Sassoon, died peacefully at home in Surrey in the U.K., BBC News reported.
