Move to keep California bars open late night continues ahead with big change


An effort to allow bars in certain California cities to serve alcohol longer into the night is moving ahead after being dialed back.

Senate Bill 58, the latest effort by state Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) to boost business for the state's nightlife hubs, passed a key Appropriations Committee vote last week and will move ahead to the assembly floor next week, Wiener told the Business Times.
