New Covid-19 variants BA.4 and BA.5 cause surge in cases across the Triad


The new Covid-19 subvariants, BA.4 and BA.5, have become the dominant strain, accounting for 70% of new cases in North Carolina and causing a spike in causes across the United States as well as here in the Triad. Public health officials still urge vaccines and boosters to prevent infection and severe illness.
