Noncompete once could have blocked KC funds for Royals ballpark district. Cordish now has a different outlook


The Kansas City Power & Light District's 2004 terms included a 10-year noncompete provision, precluding Kansas City from extending public assistance to other urban entertainment projects within a broad surrounding area. Now, however, The Cordish Cos.' local leader says a potential Royals ballpark district in Downtown would build on growing momentum.
