Phoenix home affordability dips slightly, index shows


It got a little less affordable to own a home in Phoenix last month, according to a new index released by RealtyHop.

The real estate website's affordability index for May shows Phoenix ranks No. 52 among the 100 most populous U.S. cities based on home affordability. That means the Valley is essentially right in the middle between the most affordable and least affordable cities. Phoenix's ranking moved up one spot, which means it became just a little less affordable to own a home.
