Photographer’s notebook: Revisiting the Caldor Fire (Slideshow)


I recently went to El Dorado County to view areas affected by last year's Caldor Fire. The fire began Aug. 14, 2021, and was contained Oct. 21 of that year, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The fire started near the Middle Fork of the Cosumnes River in the south part of El Dorado County. It burned 221,835 acres across El Dorado, Amador and Alpine counties, according to Cal Fire.
